Do you do booths at tradeshows? Recently this writer attended a tradeshow in beautiful Snowmass, Colorado. Great conference sponsors, wonderful array of ideas. Some gave out wrapped candy, off the shelf, nothing special or attached to it. Most didn’t have a dish or bowl, just a pile quickly poured out on the tablecloth in their booth. Yes, people stopped by to pick up a piece. What is the point? To capture passerbys’ interest, a fun bowl, hat, box, something that shows you put a little thought into it could have been the candy dish. Candy is great, wrapped it is sanitary, but when unaccompanied by a card, slogan or even a slip of paper, no one remembers where they got that chocolate kiss or peppermint candy. Using shaped keychains, shaped chocolates, mints, any imprinted item so that the recipient remembers your name or service is the “key”. A couple of safety related vendors handed out seasonal items. One had imprinted sunscreen packets, another had hand sanitizer with their name printed. For tradeshow success, keep in mind the reason you are there…to help attendees remember YOU when they need your service or business. Promotional products are a part of your tradeshow success plan.
